Yours? Mine? Ours?

When I was a little girl, I'd look at Mom and Dad and I'd tell myself that one day, I would want this for me as well. A family, a sturdy life and a future to look forward to. But of course, before all this could become a reality, I'd have to find the perfect partner. I mean, not PERFECT but perfect for me. One who suits me. One who is for me. Yes, there have been a few in the past. But nothing stuck. I still don't know why.

I want a man who will take good care of me and will let me take good care of him.

I want a man who will respect my father as he does his.

I want a man who'll love my mother as he loves his.

A man who will give me the freedom I deserve but will still give me boundaries. (Girls say they hate boundaries, but really, we love them).

I want a man who has money. Yes, I do. You don't have to be Donald Trump but come on, who wants a deadbeat husband?

I want a man who will let me work if I love my job, and would tell me to quit if I was miserable.

I want a man who has had a good education. Or at the very least, willing to learn.

I want a man who listens AND speaks.

I want a man who hugs and kisses me for no reason.

I want a man who makes my friends his own.

I want a man who gets angry when I do something wrong and lets me get angry when he does something wrong.

I don't want a good looking man who is an asshole.

I don't want a rich man who will not spend money for our families.

I don't want a man who hugs and kisses me only when he's horny.

I don't want a man who thinks I am lesser than he is.

Seems too good to be true, ay? No. Not for me. Because there is a man, somewhere, out there, who wants the same things as I do.

I will not compromise, and neither should you.
